Angelina Jolie files to adopt child in Vietnam

Hollywood star sexxy angelina jolie has filed papers to adopt a Vietnamese child with her partner and fellow screen idol Brad Pitt, the most senior adoption official in the communist country said Friday.

Vu Duc Long, head of the justice ministry's international child adoption department, said the couple would be treated like anyone else.

"We received a file from angelina jolie through a US organization a few days ago, asking for permission to adopt a child from Vietnam," he said.

The Hollywood power couple visited an orphanage near Ho Chi Minh City during last November's Thanksgiving holiday and spent the day playing with children.

"Angelina jolie is not yet married so the file was from her individually. It will take a few months for us to consider this," said Long.

The couple have a baby daughter, Shiloh, born last May, as well as adopted children Maddox, five, from Cambodia, and Zahara, two, from Ethiopia.

Nguyen Van Trung, director of the Tam Binh orphanage which pitt brad and angelina jolie visited outside Ho Chi Minh, formerly known as Saigon, said, "if things go well, we will invite them to Vietnam to discuss the details.

"I am very happy to learn about this and hope they will receive permission from the [Vietnamese] authorities regarding the adoption. It proves that they love the country and the people of Vietnam."

Trung said the ministry would consider the application and, if approved, it would send it to the people's committee of Ho Chi Minh City.

"We will only start working on the adoption with their acceptance," he said.

When angelina jolie and pitt brad visited Vietnam's largest city last November, they were photographed riding a motorcycle around town and visiting local markets.

The two had been on a break from the filming in India of A Mighty Heart about the abduction and murder by Islamic militants of US journalist Daniel Pearl in Pakistan in 2002. angelina jolie topless and angelina jolie gia picture

Jolie is starring in the movie and Pitt is a producer.

Jolie was also reported to have visited southern Vietnam in January.

She owns a house in the northwest of neighboring Cambodia, a country she got to know while shooting Lara Croft: Tomb Raider at the famed Angkor Wat temple near Siem Reap in 2001.
